Our Team

Our experienced Planning and Environmental team has a strong track record for providing the very best legal advice across a range of planning and environmental issues which is nationally recognised in both Chambers and Partners, Legal 500 and the Planning Magazine’s top planning practices. The team have considerable experience across a range of sectors, most notably in the development, retail maritime and waste management sectors.

Some of the things we’ve been doing recently:

  • Advising a large port group in respect of environmental liability and damage in relation to its operations
  • Advising a PLC in relation to its acquisitions of multi-site fuel businesses in particular the ongoing environmental liability
  • Representing a waste organisation in relation to an odour statutory nuisance claim
  • Representing a large wood recycler in respect of an investigation and prosecution brought by the Environment Agency
  • Advising a PBSA developer in relation to its regeneration of university campuses in Shropshire
  • Advising a large PRS developer in respect of both specialist environmental due diligence on site acquisition as well as negotiation of statutory agreements

Advising a North West city council in respect of numerous Section 106 obligations.

Your Role

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious solicitor with a keen interest in planning and environmental law to join a growing national team. You’ll have the chance to work closely with partners and be involved in high-profile deals right from the start, working with well- established clients. Given the nature of the role, you will be highly organised and be able to work pragmatically.

You’ll work to participate in relevant practice development initiatives, seek to get involved with business development opportunities and keep up to date with changes in relevant law and practice. To drive best practice further, you will be an exceptional team player with the ability to work collaboratively to deliver the best outcomes for our clients. 

This role is a fantastic opportunity for a newly qualified solicitor looking for the next step in their career.

What we'll need from you
  • Ideally you will have a background in Environmental issues including environmental impact assessments or a keen interest in this area of law
  • A good working knowledge of Planning applications and appeals
  • Previous experience of supporting on drafting and negotiating planning, and other infrastructure agreements
  • A clear enthusiasm for this area of law and a commitment to securing the best outcomes for your clients whilst working under pressure
