Our Team

Serious injuries can cause huge disruption to the lives of both the sufferer and their loved ones. They can mean a total rethink of major life decisions, affecting family members, employment, healthcare and everyday life. Serious injuries are hugely traumatic and need to be handled with utmost care and expertise. Our serious injury solicitors pride themselves on making a real difference and we help our clients to live their life as fully as possible after an accident. We have years of experience helping people claim compensation for serious injuries and have specialist teams across the UK.

Irwin Mitchell is one of the few firms to offer a rare opportunity to specialise in this high profile work, and is a deeply rewarding area of personal injury law. You will have experience in Claimant multi track RTA work including serious orthopaedic injury and fatal accidents.

You will join Partner Fran Mayes and her team in our Newcastle office, specialising in pursuing claims following serious injury. The team has achieved many multi-million pound awards on behalf of their clients and is externally recognised for their experience and specialism by the Legal 500, Chambers and Partners and the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL).

Your Role

You will work closely with clients, providing them with exceptional legal advice to achieve the best possible outcome in their claims. You will have responsibility for your own case load of multi-track RTA cases including serious orthopaedic and other injuries and fatal accidents, obtaining interim payments and arranging rehabilitation and support to ensure recovery is maximised.

You will -

  • Take instructions from clients and give legal advice.
  • Manage own caseload.
  • Review cases and other relevant matters with supervisor to ensure quality legal advice is provided.

What we’ll need from you:

  • 4 Years PQE +
  • Must have experience of running own multi-track caseload of RTA work
  • Good commercial awareness, and the confidence and willingness to actively engage in business development to continue to build the team’s profile
  • Current Practising Certificate
  • Ambition, energy and enthusiasm for Personal Injury Law
  • Empathy and compassion to help guide our clients through challenging personal circumstances
  • A friendly, enthusiastic and can-do approach
  • Be able to operate independently and as part of a team to deliver the best outcomes for our seriously injured clients.
