This role will involve working closely with the existing team to advise high net worth clients on the legal and tax aspects of succession planning, tax planning and asset protection. This involves giving clear and practical advice on and implementing trusts, complex wills, deeds of variations, probate, powers of attorney and Court of Protection applications.
Our clients come to us from our existing, extensive client base, introductions from external private wealth professionals and other Irwin Mitchell teams across the nationwide office network including Family, Wills Trusts & Estates Disputes, Court of Protection and Personal Injury. Clients are located across the country and there is sometimes the need to travel to other offices. They typically have complex requirements due to the value or type of assets owned, the applicable tax rules or their personal needs and circumstances.
The successful candidate will support colleagues on some matters and have primary responsibility for others with appropriate supervision and also support from junior assistants. They will be able to demonstrate strong financial disciplines, an aptitude for business development and the ability to work collaboratively with other teams. This role is ideal for the STEP qualified candidate but is also suitable for the candidate who grasps legal and tax concepts, can apply them in their day to day work and is keen to develop their technical knowledge and skills through the many opportunities offered within Irwin Mitchell.
