We’re currently recruiting for Practice Development Lawyers (PDL) to be based in any of the Irwin Mitchell offices. We have 3 opportunities available with the below specialisms:
Please note these can be flexible depending on your expertise.
Working as a Practice Development Lawyer, you’ll play a key role in contributing to Knowledge Management initiatives and projects in your practice area, ensuring relevant and up‑to‑date legal knowledge is easily available to support our teams in their day‑to‑day legal work, supporting client/relationship retention and contributing to business winning activity. You will also contribute to a number of our firm‑wide knowledge management activities, representing your practice areas and helping to shape our processes and services and supporting the implementation our Knowledge Strategy.
As a practicing lawyer, it’s important that you have an interest in knowledge management and information, and are keen to undertake horizon scanning; keeping up-to-date with any legal developments and helping others to understand these changes and how they can be implemented firm wide. Experience working as part of a project team would be ideal, but is not essential.
Given the nature of the role, it’s essential that you hold a current Practising Certificate, and are a member of any relevant professional bodies. You may already have experience arranging and delivering technical training and helping to draft articles and other communications which can be shared with our clients and the wider market to promote Irwin Mitchell. You should have a keen interest in facilitating knowledge sharing activities and supporting collaborative working. You’ll be an effective communicator, and can work with a range of different employees, as well as being able to articulate opinions and ideas clearly and objectively. You’ll hold excellent organisational skills, helping you to resolve any issues before they arise as you focus on the best interests of your clients in everything you do.
In addition to your basic salary we have a competitive benefits package including pension, critical illness cover, health cash plan, death in service, discounted legal services, 25 days hols (this increases with length of service), discounted online shopping, discounted gym memberships and season ticket loans.
As part of the Irwin Mitchell Group’s on-boarding process all successful applicants are required to complete the group’s employment screening process. This process helps to ensure that all new employees meet our standards in relation to honesty and integrity therefore protecting the interests of the Group, existing employees, clients, partners and other stakeholders.
The background checks made will establish your eligibility to work in the UK, and criminal record check and financial checks with a credit reference agency will also be undertaken.
The employment screening process will fully comply with Data Protection and other applicable laws.
