Working as a Portfolio Analyst in Irwin Mitchell’s Change Delivery team, you’ll support, guide and analyse a range of projects and programmes to ensure a smooth delivery from beginning to end. You’ll be a pivotal member of the Enterprise Portfolio Management Office team, providing various services, including demand and capacity planning and resource management, and work closely with key stakeholders, including senior management, to help maximise portfolio performance.
You’ll already hold previous experience working in Portfolio Management, and ideally hold a qualification in project, programme or portfolio management. You’ll provide resource management support to project and programme managers and team leaders, monitor resource utilisation and allocation to ensure optimal alignment of the required resources for successful project delivery. Whilst you’ll report to the Head of EPMO, and assist other senior management when needed, you’ll need to work independently and often autonomously, escalating any issues to the Head of EPMO when necessary. You’ll maintain and facilitate robust resource forecasting to enable capacity planning and provide your stakeholders with regular reports to assist with decision making.
As you’ll be governing various projects and programmes, you’ll be tasked with regular quality assurance on all documentation, and discuss any discrepancies with the project manager, therefore, it’s essential you hold strong planning and organisational skills and are able to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously, and still maintain a high quality of work. Given that you’ll be dealing with senior staff on a regular basis, you must have excellent communication skills and the confidence to challenge ideas in a constructive way, with the best interests of Irwin Mitchell in mind in everything you do.
Ideally you will have proven experience of resource management within a professional services environment.
