HR Advisor (1116)

The Role

We are currently recruiting for a HR Advisor for a 12 month maternity cover.

As a HR Advisor at Irwin Mitchell, you’ll be responsible for building and developing relationships with people leaders and colleagues at all levels to provide support and guidance on a range of HR matters and share best practice throughout the group.

Reporting to the Head of People Operations, you’ll work in partnership across the HR team to define and embed our key people processes, ensuring they are consistently applied and efficient, whilst also ensuring HR systems and records are accurate and fit for purpose. You’ll have excellent communication skills to build effective working relationships with colleagues at all levels, providing advice and guidance on a range of HR policies and related issues to support understanding, and ensure an effective communication of good HR practice. You will support colleagues and people leaders to put in place corrective action and encourage improvements at an early stage to drive performance improvements.

You’ll be an experienced HR professional with a strong understanding of employment law, as it’s essential that you’re able to confidently coach and advise employees on complex Employee Relations matters. Whilst you’ll be educated to degree level in Human Resources and hold a level 5 CIPD, you’ll still actively seek to continuously develop yourself in your role and be commercially aware of changes to HR policies that could affect people matters. You’ll be a great mediator, and be able to hold challenging conversations with your colleagues, whilst delivering a high quality service at all times.
