Due to the rapid growth of our Tax, Trusts and Estates team in our Leeds office, an opportunity has arisen to recruit a senior solicitor who has experience in cross border and/or landed estates as we have identified a demand for this expertise in our Leeds office which will strengthen our national Private Wealth offering.
This role will involve identifying opportunities to grow our Tax, Trusts and Estates team in the North, working closely with the existing Leeds and National team in our rural and business wealth segments to advise high net worth clients on the legal and tax aspects of succession planning, tax planning and asset protection. This involves giving clear and practical advice on wealth protection and succession planning including implementing trusts, complex wills, deeds of variations, probate, powers of attorney.
Our clients come to us from our existing, extensive client base, introductions from external private wealth professionals and other Irwin Mitchell teams across the nationwide office network from teams within our Personal Legal Services and Business Legal Services Divisions. Clients are located across the country and there is sometimes the need to travel to other offices. They typically have complex requirements due to the value or type of assets owned, the applicable tax rules or their personal needs and circumstances. This role would require the candidate to generate a large part of their own work which can be supported by junior members of the team.
The successful candidate will have primary responsibility for all of their matters with appropriate supervision and also support from junior assistants and may support senior colleagues on other matters. They will be able to demonstrate strong financial disciplines, a strong aptitude for business development and the ability to work collaboratively with other teams. This role is ideal for a STEP qualified candidate who is keen to develop their technical knowledge and skills through the many opportunities offered within Irwin Mitchell.
If you are a qualified solicitor with experience in this field, a passion for supporting your clients, contributing to the growth and profitability of the team and developing the Private Wealth proposition in the region we would love to hear from you. For more information or confidential discussion, please get in touch.
In addition to your basic salary we have a competitive benefits package including pension, critical illness cover, health cash plan, death in service, discounted legal services, 25 days hols (this increases with length of service), discounted online shopping, discounted gym memberships and season ticket loans.
As part of the Irwin Mitchell Group’s on-boarding process all successful applicants are required to complete the group’s employment screening process.
