Irwin Mitchell’s Real Estate offering is going from strength to strength and we are looking to further grow through expansion into the larger Southampton and Crawley markets. Most of the work the team undertakes falls under four categories; Strategic Land, Regeneration/Mixed Use, Education and Property Companies. Strategic Land forms the bedrock of our practice, taking greenfield and brownfield sites right through the development process. Within this area, we anticipate further client wins this year. With regards to our Regeneration/Mixed Use work, our work includes regeneration of a town centre as well as the redevelopment of a landmark city centre building in Leicester that has created approximately 1,000 new jobs, 50 private rent residential units, 20,000 sq ft of leisure space and 140 student accommodation units. Rather more niche is our specialism within the education sector using our expertise in EU procurement rules, the national regulatory framework and charity law, and our work with property companies extends across pre-letting and financing work, to general investment and asset management work.
In all four areas, we work with leading promoters and developers as well as well-respected educational institutions.
You will be joining a team with long-standing experience and expertise and as such there is the opportunity to both learn from the best whilst also having the opportunity to play a key part in the firm’s wider IM 2022 strategy. Using your experience within the areas of housing, residential, strategic land and land regeneration, you work to develop Irwin Mitchell’s reach into other areas of Real Estate. The focus of your role will be to work as part of the development team to target three specialist sub-sectors; build to rent, student accommodation and retirement living, in order to expand the team’s practice areas beyond its already strong base.
Your ability to communicate is key and you must be a committed team player. Given the nature of the role, you must have a demonstrable track record in business development and client relationship management, although a following is not required. As you are working on implementing the firm’s IM2022 strategy, you will be innovative, ambitious and self-motivated in order to drive continuous improvement.
