Job description

Tribe Delivery Lead (2180)

We’re a national law firm with a local reach. Our philosophy is ‘Expert Hand, Human Touch’ – something you’ll find in the way we work with our clients and how we support our teams. But, we’re more than just a law firm – we’re a team, working together to help individuals and businesses navigate life’s ups and downs.

Whichever team you join, working here you’ll feel a part of our friendly and inclusive environment. We’ll value you for who you are and what you bring. We support each other and push boundaries to achieve incredible things, and make a real difference to our clients and communities.

The work we do has been recognised in the awards we’ve won. We’re committed to being even better, and our awards help to show we’re on the right track.

We recognise that the office 9-5 isn’t for everyone. That’s why we’ve introduced ‘Flexible by Choice’. Whether it’s working from home, in our offices, or a combination of the both, we trust each other to support our clients, colleagues and communities at the right time, in the right way.

Your Role

As The Tribe Delivery Lead, you’ll have overall accountability for the success of all Squads within the Tribe. You’ll ensure the smooth delivery of the overarching plan by removing any blockers, ensuring progress can be made by squad members by removing risks/issues outside of their control, dealing with any organisational impediments, managing tribe dependencies and protecting the squad from unnecessary distraction.

Given the nature of this role, you’ll also have responsibility for the day to day agile management activities and ensure that Agile work is delegated consistently across the squads, driving a culture of skills growth and continuous improvement. You'll also manage the Delivery Chapter and ensure that colleagues are managed, developed and supported in line with Irwin Mitchell frameworks.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Maximising the Squads ability to deliver Sprint goals and contribute to Tribe OKRs.
  • Managing squad capacity, utilisation and velocity. Actively engaging with other Squad Leads in the Tribe and Tribe leadership to discuss resourcing and utilisation.
  • Building a robust high-level plan to deliver the Tribe strategy considering budgetary constraints in delivering the plan successfully.
  • Understanding the needs of the business and uses this to develop strategy and plans
  • Advocating and leading agile ways of working as needed to advance business outcomes.
  • Monitoring and reviewing progress on the strategy and plan, updating and evolving as required with the necessary senior stakeholder support.
  • Ensuring the customer/clients/employees are ‘front and centre’ in everything that the Tribe does
  • Identifying, measuring and reporting ROI across Tribe based on Squad performance versus product backlog value.
  • Responsible for strategy and execution alignment by improving the flow of value through the teams/value streams associated with the delivery model and pipeline
  • Responsible for the development and management of the Delivery chapter and line management of senior colleagues within the Chapter.
What We're Looking For
  • A recognised agile certification such as Scrum Master, LeSS and SAFe or equivalent.
  • Extensive experience of leading the delivery aspects of Agile Tribes and Squads in other organisations.
  • Experience of working within Transformation Programme with multi million pound budgets.
  • Significant experience in modern, cloud based technology standards and practices. Including concepts such as API management and CICD pipelines
  • A high level of commercial awareness and comfortable driving designs to maximise benefits.
  • An articulate communicator, able to explain complex topics to colleagues
  • Ability to build and manage positive relationships both within the CIO team, and across other functions.
What we can offer you
  • 25 days annual leave, with the opportunity to buy additional leave
  • Two fundraising days in a year to give back to the community (fully paid!)
  • Westfield Health membership, offering discounted leisure and travel and refunds on medical services

We also offer a huge number of well-being initiatives to encourage positive mental health both in and out of the workplace as well as flexible working options to ensure that you are fully supported to work the way that best suits you.
