Trainee Investment Manager (2470)

Your Role

Your role as a Trainee Investment Manager will involve providing investment management research, assisting in the management of portfolios and funds, provide analytical input into the investment process, as well helping out the client facing advisers.

The role holder will be required to undertake formal qualification in order to obtain Level 4 Certificate in Investment Management and will be provided with training so that they are able to demonstrate a full understanding and knowledge of the funds, securities and financial instruments contained within the portfolios.  

What You'll Be Doing
  • Work towards becoming a competent and qualified Investment Manager within the Training & Competence framework. 
  • Contribute to investment policy formulation at both macroeconomic and stock selection levels via the Investment Strategy Meeting.
  • Under supervision assist with the management of discretionary investment portfolios for IM private clients including a collective investment scheme.
  • Under supervision help to maintain the firm’s relationship with IM investment clients.
  • Providing assistance to the Investment team & other areas of the department to fully understand the dynamics within the company.
  • Assisting with the provision of technical advice and guidance to others in the practice to ensure they are conversant with the firm’s policy and procedures.
What We're Looking For
  • Be able to demonstrate an interest in financial markets, think independently and demonstrate this in a practical way.
  • Be able to demonstrate strong IT ability and confidence in using a range of computer packages
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to work under your own initiative is essential
  • Excellent communication skills and work effectively in both a team and alone. You must have the ability to manage and prioritise your own workload and meet tight deadlines.
