Your Role

As a Supplier Manager, you’ll be responsible for supporting the Senior Supplier Manager and Head of Procurement and Supplier Management in delivering the Irwin Mitchell Supplier Management Strategy during an exciting time of significant transformational change. In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to develop and maintain strategic relationships and deliver a number of high profile, complex, project activities.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Supporting the Head of Procurement and Supplier Management and the Senior Supplier Manager, with the development of a centralised supplier management framework for the Irwin Mitchell Group
• Developing a full and detailed understanding of the supply chain landscape across the Irwin Mitchell Group, identifying different suppliers and targeting opportunities to prevent contract value leakage
• Creating category strategies, which drive value from the IM supply chain
• Proactively manage in collaboration with the business Irwin Mitchell’s strategic suppliers to optimise performance, drive innovation, adhere to responsible business best practice and reduce risk
• Report the performance of Irwin Mitchell’s suppliers to the relevant business stakeholders against agreed key performance metrics, creating continuous improvement programmes that drive value
• Champion responsible business across the Irwin Mitchell supply chain, ensuring suppliers help to support Irwin Mitchell deliver against the responsible business agenda
• Collaborating with senior managers to identify commercial risks, drive supplier performance to maximise savings and minimise commercial exposure
• Working closely with the in-house legal team to improve key performance metrics in supplier contracts and mitigate contractual risks ensuring supplier contracts are comprehensive and robust
• Supportng the Senior Supplier Manager in raising the profile of the function internally, developing template documentation, policies and tools for the business as appropriate and embedding best practice across the Irwin Mitchell Group

What We’re Looking For

• Previous experience of strategic supplier management and contract management
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal with the ability to influence at a senior level
• Proven ability to develop and maintain relationships at all levels
• Ability to manage benefits realisation, supplier performance frameworks, forecasting & financial planning
• Strong understanding of contract law and performance tracking mechanisms
• Well-developed negotiation and influencing skills
