The Role

Working as Solicitor within the team, you will have lots of opportunities to learn from the best on a varied and interesting caseload. Working as part of the national team, you will have excellent partner access and have the opportunity to work for many notable clients.      

The Team

Our national commercial dispute resolution team advise on commercial risk issues and a range of commercial disputes. Due to the continued growth of this division, we are looking strengthen our Manchester, Birmingham and Leeds teams. The national team undertakes a broad range of work including contractual disputes, tortious issues, insurance disputes, professional negligence claims and company and shareholder disputes acting for both corporates and individuals.

Some of the things we’ve been doing recently:

  • Advising a group of directors in respect of a multijurisdictional £150million plus claim for wrongful trading.
  • Reviewing and advising on a national sporting association's membership policy and representing the association in various disputes with members.
  • Representing a large transport company who had a dispute with a large retailer following various closures during the Covid-19 pandemic.
  • Representing a private investor in a substantial professional negligence claim against their financial advisor.
  • Advising multiple businesses on business interruption insurance claims against a range of insurers, in relation to loss caused by COVID-19.
  • Advising individuals in relation to a life insurance dispute against a multi-national insurance company.
  • Acting for a manufacturer in a claim against an employee for the misappropriation of over £300,000, obtaining injunctive relief over relevant assets within 24 hours of being instructed.
  • Acting for a large medical supply company in respect of a significant procurement dispute.
What We'll Need From You

We’re looking for a bright and enthusiastic individual to join our successful team. You’ll be an experienced Commercial Disputes Resolution Solicitor with the confidence to work autonomously, taking the lead on some matters from the very beginning.
