The Team and The Role

We’re currently recruiting for a talented Solicitor/Associate to join our Employment team based from our Leeds office.

The successful candidate will be joining our Partner Jenny Arrowsmith’s team, specialists in all areas of contentious and non-contentious Employment Law. The team advise businesses and individuals, with a focus on respondent work. Our clients vary from SMEs to large household name companies and are across a wide variety of sectors including manufacturing, consumer, hospitality, education and charities. Our national employment team is made up of over 60 people individuals and we are growing year on year, the work we do has been recognised with awards including a third nomination for Personnel Today, Employment Law Firm of the Year 2023, something we’re proud to have won twice. 

The role will include, but is not limited to, providing advisory services to clients, specifically across employee relation matters such as redundancies, disciplinaries, grievances, settlement agreements, TUPE, absence management, discrimination, whistleblowing and employee status issues, etc. We also regularly get involved in project work for clients – corporate support, training programmes on topics such as sexual harassment, equality and diversity or performance management and undertake a lot of Employment Tribunal claims. 

About You

We're looking for a Solicitor/Associate who has a passion for all aspects of employment law with the ability to provide sound advice without supervision. Our ideal candidate will have the following:

  • Qualified lawyer either via traditional SRA route or CILEX;
  • The ability to take instructions from clients and give sound legal advice;
  • The ability to manage own caseloads whilst maintaining exceptional attention to detail and seamless service;
  • The ability to operate independently and work collaboratively as part of a team to deliver the best outcomes for our clients;
  • Demonstratable technical experience gained within employment law, with the ability to supervise more junior members of the team when and where necessary;
  • An aptitude for business development and a passion for growing strong client and referrer relationship as well as a drive to continue to aid the growth and development of the wider team
