Solicitor (1262)

The Role

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Solicitor to join our Asbestos Related Disease team in our London office.

Our team has over 30 years of experience representing victims of asbestos related diseases, operating as part of a highly successful specialist asbestos national team to provide outstanding client care and achieve the best outcomes for our clients and their families. We have also successfully pursued many landmark legal case judgements in the Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court.

Recognised in the legal directories, the team deals purely with asbestos disease claims, mainly mesothelioma, with a high percentage of litigated cases being dealt with on an expedited basis in the High Court.  The work requires very strong technical skills and an understanding of respiratory medicine.

Personal injury and illness can have a dramatic and sometimes life changing impact for the person affected and for those who are close to them. The personal injury teams at Irwin Mitchell don’t just deal with compensation claims. It’s a unique, bespoke approach that really makes a difference to people whose lives have been turned upside down by injury.

As a member of the highly regarded team, you will play an integral role in the growth of the team. You’ll lead the investigation and litigation on complex cases, working as part of a team to maximise client damages and optimise costs recovery.

    • Have Personal Injury litigation experience ideally in Asbestos Related Disease or general disease cases

    • Have more than 4 years’ of post-qualification experience
    • Possess excellent IT skills
    • Be self-motivated to achieve
    • Have excellent client care and inter-personal skills, operating with integrity and showing empathy for clients who are terminally ill.

If this sounds like you, we’d love to receive your application.

  • 25 days annual leave, with the opportunity to buy additional leave
  • X2 fundraising days in a year to give back to the community (fully paid!)
  • Westfield Health membership, offering discounted leisure and travel and refunds on medical services

We also offer a huge number of well-being initiatives to encourage positive mental health both in and out of the workplace to make sure you’re fully supported to work the way that best suits you.
