Your Role and What You'll Be Doing

Our experienced medical negligence solicitors take the time to understand what clients are going through, helping them get the answers and compensation they deserve. Our clinical negligence team has extensive experience in clinical negligence claims arising from obstetric, neonatal, anaesthetic, neurosurgical, cardiac and psychiatric care.

Our solicitors have years of experience making a variety of medical negligence cases including but not limited to:

  • Accident & Emergency claims
  • Cancer claims
  • Cerebral Palsy claims
  • GP negligence claims

Your Role and What You'll Be Doing

You’ll provide quality legal advice to the firm’s clients by appropriate supervision and training and managing your very own caseload from the offset. Your aim will be to obtain interim payments wherever possible, so that we can put rehabilitation, a care package and suitable accommodation in place before the claim is concluded. As a team, we are dedicated to improving the quality of life of our clients.

You’ll join the Birmingham Team, working alongside Partner Sara Burns, who has a wealth of experience in complex clinical negligence cases. The team act exclusively for clients in clinical negligence cases, helping people bring claims against NHS Trusts, private practitioners and general practitioners (GPs). The cases involve:

  • Cancer Claims
  • Cerebral Palsy
  • Fatal Claims and Inquest work
  • GP Negligence
  • Hospital Negligence
  • Pregnancy and Gynaecology Injury
  • Surgery claims

 

Sara heads one of the leading Medical Negligence teams in the country here at IM. She is recognised as being an award winning, leading lawyer in the region, with a reputation for obtaining the best result possible with a fearsome approach to litigation whilst always putting her clients empathic needs first.

About You
  • Ideally 5 years’ plus experience in Medical Negligence work
  • A clear enthusiasm for this area of law and a commitment to securing the best outcomes for your clients whilst working under pressure
  • An ability to work with empathy and integrity
  • An open-minded and pioneering approach – always thinking how can we do things better
  • Highly organised
  • Commercial awareness
  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently
