Our Team

The IT Supplier Management Team makes sure Irwin Mitchell achieves the best value and minimises risk from its supplier base, whilst growing strategic relationships with our critical suppliers.

Things we’ve been doing recently:

  • We have recently created an IT Strategic Supplier Framework – this role will be critical in driving and implementing this framework, working closely with the IM Centralised procurement team.
  • In 2019 we established a Strategic supplier relationship with Microsoft which will be developed over the coming months and years to deliver the IM IT Strategy.
  • Across 2020 we will be implementing the foundations of the IM IT strategy – moving many of our hosted infrastructure into Microsoft Azure, Dynamics and moving to Office 365. 
  • Alongside these moves we will be procuring key infrastructure and planning the 3-5 year migration roadmap for the development of the IT strategy. This includes a revised WAN and Service Strategy as well as consolidating our current applications estate and moving it into Azure.
Your Role

This is an excellent opportunity for you to really shape the strategy of our long-term IT supplier management strategy including having input into the strategy’s budgetary forecasting and financial management. In this varied and diverse role, you’ll also need to be passionate about leading a team. Within your team, you’ll have up to 5 direct reports and you’ll need to be committed to supporting them both in their day-to-day roles and with their professional development. You’ll need to have the confidence to work directly with the CIO executive team and enjoy high-level negotiations and building strong and lasting relationships across all your stakeholders.


What we’ll need from you:

  • A strong supplier management background including budgetary ownership and experience of managing complex third party contracts
  • Experience of strong contract, commercial, service and budget management within a complex supplier environment
  • Proven experience of change management and project management
  • Excellent stakeholder management experience, especially impactful communication, influencing stakeholders and benefits realisation
  • Commercial experience managing change and the impact on suppliers
  • Proven experience or a desire to lead a team as a motivational and supportive manager.
