Senior Learning & Development Specialist (6036)

We’re a national law firm with a local reach. Our legal experts are here for you. Whether it’s personal or business, we understand that everyone’s situation is different. But we’re more than just a law firm – we’re a team of people working together to help individuals and businesses navigate life’s ups and downs. Working here you’ll feel a part of our friendly and inclusive environment.

We’ll value you for who you are and what you bring. We support each other and push boundaries to achieve incredible things and make a real difference to our clients and communities.

We're always looking to support our colleagues to work in a way that works best for them and everyone else, including our clients, the business and the regulators. Please speak to a member of our Recruitment and Onboarding team for more information.

Your Role and What You'll Be Doing

12 Month Fixed Term Contracts

We’re looking for two passionate Senior Learning & Development Specialists to play a key role in helping our people grow, develop and thrive. In this role, you'll design and deliver meaningful learning experiences, partner with leaders across the business, and bring fresh thinking to how we build capability at scale.

You’ll work closely with teams across HR and the wider organisation to understand learning needs, create effective solutions and ensure colleagues have the knowledge and skills to succeed. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to drive impact, bring creativity to L&D, and influence how we shape a high‑performing, people‑focused culture.

  • Designing and delivering engaging learning programmes—both in person and through digital platforms
  • Partnering with senior leaders to support initiatives such as leadership bootcamps, team events, and management capability development
  • Working as part of cross‑functional squads to scope business needs and translate them into practical learning solutions
  • Creating and maintaining learning content, toolkits and resources within our learning systems, ensuring everything is current and aligned with regulatory requirements
  • Supporting the design and delivery of a great onboarding experience for new starters
  • Tracking, evaluating and reporting on the effectiveness of learning programmes, providing insights and recommendations for improvement
  • Contributing to organisation‑wide programmes and business change projects by delivering essential skills and knowledge training
  • Working with external suppliers of digital learning tools and technology
  • Staying ahead of trends and best practices in learning and development
  • Supporting the Senior L&D Manager and wider HR team with key priorities
About You
  • Strong experience designing and delivering learning programmes across large or complex organisations
  • Experience working in a regulated environment (FCA or SRA experience ideal)
  • Confidence using technology‑based learning platforms and digital facilitation tools
  • Excellent relationship‑building and influencing skills at all levels
  • Experience conducting learning needs analysis and evaluating learning impact
  • Able to thrive in a multi‑site, fast‑paced environment
  • Well‑organised, able to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
  • Experience working within a central HR or people function
  • CIPD Training Certificate (or equivalent) – desirable

Here, you’ll be part of a collaborative HR community where development, innovation and continuous improvement are genuinely valued. You’ll have the freedom to bring new ideas, lead impactful projects and shape initiatives that help our colleagues do their best work. We offer supportive leadership, opportunities to grow your career and access to a wide range of professional development resources.

Our Benefits - What We Can Offer You
  • 25 days holidays as standard plus bank holidays - You can ‘buy’ up to 35hrs of extra holiday too.
  • Generous and flexible pension schemes.
  • Volunteering days – Two days of volunteering every year for a cause of your choice (fully paid)
  • Westfield Health membership, offering refunds on medical services alongside our Aviva Digital GP services.

We also offer a wide range of well-being initiatives to encourage positive mental health both in and out of the workplace and to make sure you’re fully supported.  This includes our Flexible by Choice programme which gives our colleagues more choice over a hybrid way of working subject to role, team and client requirements.

We have been ranked in the Best Workplaces for Wellbeing for Large Organisations for 2024!

Our responsible business programmes are fundamental to who we are and our purpose. We’re committed to being a diverse and inclusive workplace where our colleagues can flourish, and we have established a number of inclusion network groups across our business to support this aim.

Our commitment to Social Responsibility, community investment activity and tackling climate change is a fundamental part of who we are. It’s made up of four strands: Our People, Our Community, Our Environment and Our Pro Bono.
