Senior Business Development Executive (0909)

The Role

We are currently recruiting for a diverse role working within the Group Sales and Marketing team on a maternity cover contract. Located in our Southampton office, your role will be to help the business secure and increase more profitable work as well as working to retain existing key Clients.

Our Group Sales and Marketing department plays a fundamental role in the development of the Group and its subsidiaries. The team creates nationally recognised campaigns and is recognised as leading the way in legal sector marketing in social media, PR and marketing.

The collaborative and tenacious attitude of the team has seen it win numerous prestigious awards including the Marketing Campaign of the Year Award at the annual Personal Injury Awards, 2018. We are again a Finalist for the same award, to be announced at the end of November 2019.

Working as a Senior Business Development Executive, you will employ your experience in business development and marketing to provide support and guidance to the fee earners responsible for increasing business.

The ideal candidate will be an excellent communicator, with the confidence and tact to work as the intermediary between the Firm and its clients and key contacts, ensuring our clients are consistently at the heart of all you do. You will work to develop and build these reciprocal relationships with intermediaries to ensure that the practice areas are able to maximise their relationships to obtain work. You will be able to think creatively to offer inspiring and innovative challenges to the status quo in order to give outstanding client service.

You will have a collaborative approach and be an excellent team player as your role will involve supporting the Business Development Manager as well as liaising with the central marketing, group communications and E Business teams in order to communicate positive developments to the wider business.

A desire to continuously improve, build upon your knowledge and develop your understanding of the sectors within which key stakeholders operate will be essential in order to fully champion the IM brand and its values. You will also work to ensure all activities undertaken are in line with the National Business Development Plan and do not compromise the Firm’s brand reputation.

Other aspects that you will be expected to support on will include; attending IM events, aiding the Business Development Manager to follow up on third party leads and helping Partners with presentations and pitches. Prior knowledge of the legal sector would also be an advantage although not essential.
