Senior Associate/Legal Director- High Net Worth and International Private Client (6397)
We’re a national law firm with a local reach. Our legal experts are here for you. Whether it’s personal or business, we understand that everyone’s situation is different. But we’re more than just a law firm – we’re a team of people working together to help individuals and businesses navigate life’s ups and downs. Working here you’ll feel a part of our friendly and inclusive environment.
We’ll value you for who you are and what you bring. We support each other and push boundaries to achieve incredible things and make a real difference to our clients and communities.
We're always looking to support our colleagues to work in a way that works best for them and everyone else, including our clients, the business and the regulators. Please speak to a member of our Recruitment and Onboarding team for more information.
Join our award-winning High Net Worth and International Private Client team, advising on complex, high-value tax, trust and estate matters. We partner with an established client base of HNW and UHNW individuals, families, family offices and fiduciary service providers who rely on us for strategic, long-term guidance.
Our team focuses on two key areas:
· International Tax, Succession & Asset Structuring
We deliver sophisticated cross-border tax and succession planning and are recognised for our strong relationships with leading advisers across major international finance centres. We advise on residence and domicile planning, international family governance, wealth preservation, asset protection and succession strategies, often involving multiple jurisdictions.
· Tax & Business Wealth Planning for Entrepreneurs
We work closely with entrepreneurs, business owners and wealth creators, helping them navigate personal tax issues, business succession, liquidity events and long-term wealth structuring. Our clients value our ability to provide commercially focused advice that protects and preserves wealth across generations.
What You'll Be Doing
As a senior member of the team, you will lead on complex and high-value matters, acting as a trusted adviser to an impressive client base while building strong relationships with intermediaries and referral networks. You will collaborate closely with partners and colleagues across the firm, bringing together specialist expertise to deliver strategic solutions for clients with sophisticated and often international requirements.
Alongside delivering exceptional client work, you will play an important role in the development of the practice. This may include supervising and mentoring junior lawyers, sharing technical knowledge, contributing to thought leadership, supporting business development initiatives and helping to identify opportunities for innovation and growth.
This is a role for someone who enjoys combining technical excellence with client relationship management, team leadership and commercial thinking, whilst helping shape the future success of a leading private client practice.
We're looking for an experienced private client lawyer with strong tax expertise and a genuine passion for advising high-net-worth individuals, families, entrepreneurs and business owners on complex wealth and succession matters.
You'll bring:
· Significant experience advising on private client, tax, trust and succession planning matters.
· Strong technical capability and the ability to deliver clear, pragmatic advice on complex legal and tax issues.
· Experience leading substantial client matters and managing multiple stakeholders across often complex and multi-jurisdictional projects.
· The ability to build trusted adviser relationships with clients, professional contacts and referral sources.
· A track record of developing and maintaining strong internal and external networks.
· Experience supervising, mentoring or developing junior lawyers and contributing to a collaborative, high-performing team culture.
· Commercial awareness and an understanding of profitability, pricing, matter management and the importance of delivering value to clients.
· A proactive approach to business development, including networking, profile raising, thought leadership and identifying opportunities to grow client relationships and win new work.
· Strong judgement, risk awareness and an ability to balance technical excellence with commercial and practical outcomes.
· Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the confidence to engage effectively with sophisticated clients, advisers and senior stakeholders.
Why Join Us?
This is an exciting opportunity to join one of the UK's leading International Private Client teams and work on intellectually stimulating, often multi-jurisdictional matters for a sophisticated global client base.
You'll be part of a collaborative and ambitious team that combines technical excellence with a strong commercial outlook. In return, you'll have the opportunity to take a leading role in complex client work, contribute to the growth and development of the practice, strengthen your profile in the market and further develop your career within a supportive and forward-thinking environment.
