Every day, thousands of people across the UK depend on health and social care services. But when care services fail or are cut, it can leave our clients vulnerable and at risk. At Irwin Mitchell we have years of experience helping clients challenge health and social care decisions at the highest levels. We have a wealth of experience across all fields of public law, with the knowledge and skills to make sure our client’s rights are respected. We help clients with virtually every aspect of health and social care law including:
We have a large team of expert health and social care lawyers working across the UK, so we can help clients where they are. We are also recognised as a leading firm in this field and have been involved with some of the most high profile health and social care cases. We hold a legal aid contract for this area of law, through which many of our clients choose to fund their cases.
You’ll join the Public Law and Human Rights team in London headed by Oliver Studdert. You will be a solicitor experienced in either Court of Protection (health and welfare) and/or health and social care. You will run your own caseload and will be responsible supervising junior colleagues. You will play an important role in further developing the team’s established reputation and will be actively involved in business development.
You’ll have the opportunity to get involved in an interesting and diverse caseload, right from the beginning you’ll play a key part in securing justice for our clients and making a real difference in their lives. You’ll have the confidence to hit the ground-running and have the ability to work independently on litigated cases. Given the nature of the work you’ll work with vulnerable clients, and your role will be highly rewarding, but you’ll have to be resilient and calm whilst also putting your client’s needs first at all times.
