Procurement Manager - 12 Month FTC (3522)

Your Role

As a Procurement Manager, you’ll be responsible for supporting the Head of Procurement in delivering the Group Procurement Strategy across a range of categories of spend, during an exciting time of significant transformational change. Given the nature of this role, you’ll be required to deliver a number of high profile, complex, procurement activities in a fast paced environment.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Supporting the Head of Procurement with the development of category strategies, which supports the delivery of the transformational change agenda and incorporates market knowledge and competitor and benchmarking environments
  • Developing full understanding of the current cost base and spend analysis across the IM Group, including whole life cost/total cost of ownership
  • Leading on high-value, high-risk, strategic contracts including supplier engagement, tendering, negotiation, commercial discussions and cost modelling, whilst achieving and sustaining annualised procurement savings targets in excess of £1m
  • Working closely with the central legal team to mitigate contractual risks ensuring supplier contracts are comprehensive and robust
  • Supporting business owners with supplier relationship management activities as required
  • Driving commercial value for Irwin Mitchell in a sustainable and ethical manner consistent with IM’s values, principles and policies
  • Implementing the procurement policy and processes in line with best practice, ensuring accurate and auditable records are obtained including the accuracy and ongoing management of the contracts register
  • Supporting the Head of Procurement in raising the profile of the function internally, developing template documentation, policies and tools for the business as appropriate and embedding best practice across the Irwin Mitchell Group
What We're Looking For
  • Previous experience of strategic sourcing and contract management
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal with the ability to influence at a senior level with confidence.
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain relationships at all levels
  • Ability to manage benefits realisation, supplier performance frameworks, forecasting & financial planning
  • A strong understanding of contract law.
  • Ideally, you’ll hold a CIPS qualification and have experience of working in a demanding environment where culture change is required.
