The Role

We have a great new role in our Glasgow Office reporting to the Chairman of Ascent with regular liaison with the wider group bid team within Group Sales and Marketing.

Working alongside the Ascent management team, the role will focus on the delivery of day-to-day BAU press releases.  The candidate will also work to promote Ascent’s brand values, innovations and news to key internal and external parties. The successful candidate will work with senior management in the Ascent business to deliver external PR to the market with development and production of thought leadership pieces.

The candidate will ensure that as many national, regional and trade media outlets (print, broadcast and online) as possible carry the latest news and comment from Ascent and as many potential clients as possible have the chance to read about us and see what we have to offer. The candidate will react to relevant breaking news as quickly as possible, generating material in response.

They will spot opportunities for comment relevant to our business objectives and messaging; and to convert those opportunities into coverage in key media relevant to the story, reaching as many potential clients as possible and portraying Ascent as experts in the particular field in a manner consistent with the agreed brand positioning. They will also ensure the news content of Ascent’s own websites remain up-to-date at all times

The successful candidate will have excellent organisation and time management skills as well as the ability to prioritise and manage multiple activities at the same time. You will be a good team player who is happy working to often demanding deadlines. Full support and training will be given.
