PI and Multi Matter Billing Team Leader (1820)

Your Role

As a Team Leader of the PI Billing Team, you’ll support the IM Group in a central function for specialist billing. Dealing with queries for complex matters & billing procedures. You’ll supervise the activities of the PI & Multi-Matter Billing team to ensure an excellent level of service is provided to our internal clients, and all activities are in line with SRA Accounts Rules, firm’s policy and agreed Service Level Agreements

What You'll Be Doing
  • Supervise the team and supervise performance to ensure that the following tasks and team resource are managed to meet SLA’s, internal policies and procedures
  • Reconciling Personal Injury matters & identifying financial balances so that files may be brought to a nil balance & then closed.
  • Performance and Absence Management for the PI & Multi-Matter Billing Team to maintain adequate resource to meet business needs.
  • Deal with any invoice claims made to the Legal Aid along with the weekly statements
  • Review case management data & reconcile to finance system
  • Handling queries / concerns
  • Liaising with Internal clients
  • Balancing all weekly statements to make sure the correct offset is done, with attention to detail given to any transfer of client funds.
  • Reviewing all interim & final claims on a daily basis
  • Deal with any invoice claims made to the Legal Aid along with the weekly statements
  • Taking responsibility for online Legal Aid portal

What We’re Looking For 

  • Ideally, you may have some knowledge of working in a legal finance department and legal accounts ledger, as well as an understanding of Solicitors Accounts Rules, but this isn’t essential.
  • General Accounting / Book keeping knoweldge.
  • Demonstrable customer focussed attention to service delivery
  • Experience of supervising or managing a team.
  • Experience of continuous efficiency improvements, including identifying processing improvements
