Our Team

Our Corporate and Finance Business Unit includes our:

  • Banking & Finance team which advises lenders and borrowers on all aspects of banking and finance including corporate banking, real estate finance, leveraged/acquisition finance as well as asset based lending.
  • Restructuring & Insolvency team which advises lenders, insolvency practitioners, businesses and directors on all aspects of restructuring, business turnaround and insolvency proceedings.
  • Corporate team which advises shareholders, businesses and investors on matters representing the full life cycle of companies including incorporation, corporate governance, sales and exits.
Your Role

This is a superb opportunity for you to gain an insight into our Corporate and Finance team and develop your skills and expertise within a supportive environment.

You will be based from our Birmingham office but the role is a truly national one representing an exciting opportunity to gain experience of the complementary teams in our group and embracing our national team ethos.  The role on offer presents the opportunity to work closely with senior lawyers across the group to ensure your position and your development are meaningful and providing a platform to accelerate your legal career.  In return, we expect you to be ambitious, hardworking and committed to excellence in both your output and in your service delivery to both your internal and external clients.

Given the nature of the role, it’s essential that you enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, are proactive and adaptable at all times.  You’ll be passionate about client-care, be able to communicate exceptionally at all levels and enjoy working as part of a team.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Drafting transaction documentation.
  • Undertaking legal research.
  • Undertaking online company searches and Companies House registrations.
  • Assisting with transaction and project management, including facilitating remote completion mechanics.
  • Assisting with preparation of transaction bibles.
  • Assisting with post-completion formalities including transaction information records.
What We're Looking For
  • Ideally, have previous transactional paralegal experience.
  • Ideally, be LPC qualified.
  • Be able to demonstrate strong drafting skills and excellent attention to detail.
  • Be able to work well under pressure, know how to prioritise and be committed to meeting deadlines.
  • Have strong communication, verbal and written skills, to enable you to deliver your role with confidence and self-assurance.
  • Enjoy working as part of team to deliver transactions with great customer service
  • Strong work ethic
  • You will also be required to attend the office on Tuesday and Thursday each week.
