We have got a fantastic opportunity for a Paralegal to join our Serious Injury Team in our Newcastle office.
As a result of on-going expansion of the Serious Injury Team in Newcastle, this is an exciting and rare opportunity to join our team as a Paralegal.
The Serious Injury team represents clients who have sustained catastrophic and life changing brain and spinal cord injuries. The team works very closely with a wide range of highly specialist rehabilitation providers, health sector workers, medical professionals and also voluntary and support groups in the region.As a Paralegal you will play an integral role in the team, working together with a highly specialist team, including a Partner and experienced Solicitors. You will assist Solicitors to provide legal support on a number of complex cases, deliver an outstanding client experience and progress the clients’ cases. You will be responsible for ensuring that client queries are dealt with quickly, efficiently and with empathy, taking appropriate actions. You will work independently under supervision and as part of a team to assist in progressing serious injury litigation.
You will liaise regularly with a wide range of clients and medical professionals, in person, by phone and in writing. Your role will include arranging meetings, instructing experts to prepare medical reports, collating evidence and information, and interviewing witnesses. You will be required to demonstrate a sensitive and professional approach at all times, and in all tasks. To be successful in this role you must;• Have appropriate legal knowledge and experience to support qualified Case Handlers to progress legal cases.• Be organised and have the ability to work quickly and accurately in a growing and demanding area of the business to meet personal targets. • Be proactive and able to work independently and as part of a team to deliver the best outcomes for our clients. • Be able to produce high quality written work.• Have excellent client care and inter-personal skills, operating with integrity and showing empathy and intuition.• Be comfortable using new IT systems. • Completion of Law degree and/or Legal Practice Course would be an advantage; however we would also welcome applicants who are already well established Paralegals looking to forge a new career with IM.Personal injury and illness can have a dramatic and sometimes life changing impact for the person affected and for those who are close to them.
