Your Role and What You'll Be Doing

We have an exciting opportunity for a Solicitor with a genuine interest in acting for those who have sustained a serious injury to join our partner-led Serious Injury team in Newcastle. You will work as part of a highly experienced team of lawyers and specialists, supporting clients who have sustained life-changing injuries and benefiting from close collaboration with senior lawyers, medical experts, rehabilitation professionals, case managers and counsel.

The team represents clients with severe brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, amputations and polytrauma as well as supporting bereaved families in fatal collision cases. The team regularly achieves multi-million pound settlements and has been top-ranked in the Legal 500 and Chambers UK for many years.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage your own caseload of serious injury matters, with appropriate supervision and support.
  • Assist senior lawyers on complex, high-value claims involving catastrophic injuries and fatal accident cases.
  • Build trusted relationships with clients and provide clear, practical and compassionate legal advice throughout their claim.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and a range of external professionals to achieve the best possible outcomes for clients.
  • Maintain high standards of file management, risk management and client service.
  • Support marketing and business development activities where appropriate, helping to raise the profile of the team and the wider Serious Injury practice.
  • Take a proactive approach to learning and development, building your technical expertise and knowledge of serious injury work
About You
  • Qualified Solicitor, ideally with up to 3 years' post-qualification experience. We can consider NQ's
  • Genuine passion for working with those who have sustained serious injuries
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with vulnerable clients.
  • A compassionate and client-focused approach, with a genuine commitment to helping people rebuild their lives following serious injury.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively within a busy team environment.
  • Enthusiastic, proactive and keen to learn from experienced colleagues.
  • A collaborative approach and a desire to contribute positively to a high-performing team.
  • Commercial awareness and an interest in understanding the wider legal and rehabilitation landscape
