Working as a Knowledge and Intelligence Researcher, your role will be to provide excellent legal, business, market and information research to colleagues across the Irwin Mitchell Group. You’ll work to improve our business and enable our colleagues to provide excellent client advice and win business.
You’ll use your degree or post-graduate qualification in Information and Library Management, Information Science or a related subject to provide a full range of research based services to the Group and its clients as required. You’ll be highly organised with the ability to manage your own workload effectively - working under pressure and to tight deadlines to manage the central helpline/ inbox to ensure all work is completed to a high standard.
Ideally you’ll have worked in a legal or professional services firm in an information or research role, or in a role providing business intelligence research. You’ll use this knowledge to provide training and support in respect to research skills to encourage self-service research, ensure all external licence and contract arrangements are adhered as well as capturing knowledge from research for future use.
Given the nature of the role, it’s essential that you maintain your own professional development to ensure delivery of high levels of research support. You’ll develop your own legal and business research skills in order to upskill new starters and deliver relevant news alerts using the firm’s news aggregator. You must have an excellent knowledge of online databases for research purposes as well as a good knowledge of legal print titles for research purposes. You’ll use this experience to inform your choices as you’ll be tasked with assisting in service audits and trialling of new databases to assist in their selection.
