IT Asset and Configuration Analyst (1714)

Your Role

Working as an IT Hardware Configuration Lead, you’ll be responsible for providing the appropriate level of Service Assurance governance by taking a lead role in developing, embedding, running and governing ITIL standard processes around Hardware Asset and Configuration Management. You’ll ensure that the integrity of the live environment is protected and any risks understood and mitigated against in relation to EOL Hardware, as well as support other colleagues with their processes.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Working with the IT Service Assurance Manager and Operations Teams to develop ITIL-based policies, processes and procedures and embed across IT.
  • Ensuring that processes are being being adhered to, and data is accurate in respect of hardware Assets and their configuration information.
  • Providing cover (when required) for for day to day process management on ITIL processes such as Software Asset Management, Change, Release and Risk.
  • Ensuring all Hardware Assets have the relevant information and up to date by identification, control, record, report, audit and verify configuration items, including versions, constituent components, their attributes and relationships.
  • Scheduling, chairing and note taking at appropriate meetings to ensure that submitted activities have the appropriate level of visibility and approval from key stakeholders.
  • Day to Day management of the configuration & asset management database in respect of Hardware Assets.
  • Contributing and actively drive continuous service improvement in focussed area and others. Ensuring plans are created and updated.
  • Establishing that the ITSM Tool is used appropriately to manage team Processes
  • Working collaboratively to identify, analyse and develop mitigations against Risk for IT Service Delivery
  • Managing all communication channels around processes
  • Holding reviews to evaluate data quality around assets and understand usage and audience
  • Developing and managing an appropriate cycle of spot checks and audits to ensure that processes and procedures are being followed and address issues as and when they arise. These should be fully documented and reported upon in a developed agreed standard.

What We’re Looking For

  • ITIL Foundation (preferably V3 or v4)
  • Extensive experience of successfully dealing with all levels of internal and external stakeholders
  • Extensive experience of working in an analytical role
  • Ability to work with a high degree of autonomy
  • Experience of working in a multi-disciplined team in a medium / large organisation
  • Excellent communication skills with a capacity to present, discuss and explain issues coherently and logically both in writing and verbally.
  • Good influencing and persuasion skills with the ability to inspire multidisciplinary teams and build successful relationships at all levels.
  • Ability to balance conflicting and changing demands through prioritisation and a pragmatic approach.
  • Have confidence to challenge in a positive and constructive manner when it is in the broader interests of the Group.
