We are currently recruiting for a talented Head of Procurement & Category Management to join our Procurement and Supplier Management team, ideally based from one of our regional hubs.
The Head of Procurement & Category Management will act as the second-in-command to the Director of Procurement & Supplier Management. This role is pivotal in driving strategic procurement initiatives, particularly within the Technology category, ensuring alignment with the CIO's strategy and business goals. The role will oversee the strategic direction and day-to-day management of four Procurement Managers, ensuring the delivery of high-quality procurement services across the organisation.
This role will be instrumental in standardising the approach to business partnering based on spend, leveraging new Smart Procurement technology to enhance accuracy, compliance, and automation. By implementing robust category strategies and working effectively with the wider business, the Head of Procurement and Category Management will ensure that procurement processes are fully aligned with business needs, driving value and efficiency across the organisation both in the immediate term, to assist with a period of significant transformation and change, and for the longer-term where market insight will help to implement roadmaps for a more strategic and sustainable approach to spend and suppliers.
We're looking for a credible leader, who has an excellent understanding of contract law and the ability to successfully build relationships with key stakeholders. Our ideal candidate will have the following:
- Extensive knowledge of procurement, supplier management with a strong focus on Technology Category Management
- Demonstrable experience in other categories, such as Facilities, Services, Estates would also be relevant
- A proven track record of managing large-scale procurement projects and leading high-performing teams
- The ability to manage benefits realisation, forecasting and financial planning
- Demonstrable experience successfully building strong working relationships with stakeholders within Professional Services
- Demonstrable experience of the people management processes and practices, driving improvements in colleague experience, engagement and retention
