Working as Head of Applications and Development, you’ll report into Garry Dowdle, Chief Information Officer (CIO). This is a newly created post to play a key part in enabling Irwin Mitchell to drive maximum value from our investments in change and to develop the organisation to be highly efficient and deeply customer focused. This role will drive meeting IM’s vision to have best practice capability in apps development and support to ensure optimal innovation and consistency.
This is a demanding yet highly reward role that will require you to lead cross-functional teams, diagnosing complex issues on the various platforms as well as playing a key role in software/platform/application architectural, design and support evaluation. You’ll have exceptional trouble-shooting skills and a proven track record of using application development to add business value. In addition to this, you’ll oversee the day-to-day activities and will support the business’s site/software/application platforms that service the entire business.
Given the high visibility of the role, it’s essential you are a people person and a natural leader. You must be able to inspire trust and confidence whilst also building strong, meaningful and lasting relationships. You’ll work to champion best practice, leading and coaching where necessary and acting as a mentor to team key personnel.
You must have experience of continuous integration and continuous delivery capability as well as having been proven as a technology leader or expert in digital delivery. You must have the ability to think strategically and be able to create an environment that fosters collaboration and drives future digital driven business growth.
