Employment Solicitor 2-3PQE- Leeds (4111)

We’re a national law firm with a local reach. But, we’re more than just a law firm – we’re a team, working together to help individuals and businesses navigate life’s ups and downs.

Working here you’ll feel a part of our friendly and inclusive environment. We’ll value you for who you are and what you bring. We support each other and make a real difference to our clients and communities.

We recognise that the office 9-5 isn’t for everyone. That’s why we’ve introduced ‘Flexible by Choice’ allowing colleagues to work from both home and our offices. We trust each other to support our clients, colleagues and communities at the right time and in the right way. We work hard to look after our colleagues’ wellbeing and professional development; helping us to make this firm a great place to work.

Your Role and The Team

The Role

Working in our Leeds Employment team, you’ll have a fantastic opportunity to get involved in a variety of areas. You will gain plenty of hands on experience from the outset, both within the Leeds employment team and our other Northern offices (Sheffield and Manchester).

You’ll be supported by senior members of the team as part of your day to day work and professional development, and will work collaboratively with peers.  You’ll be supported to develop your own relationships with clients and develop technical areas of interest. You’ll have opportunities to get involved with business development activities including presenting as part of our regular seminar programme, participating in other client events and, working with colleagues in our wider national team, participating in national sector groups or projects. You’ll also benefit from regular technical training.

You’ll need to have a passion for Employment law, a desire to learn and be driven to deliver excellent client service. You’ll also need to have a willingness to try new things and use your initiative and keep up.

Your role will be varied and covers the full range of contentious and non-contentious employment issues. You’ll be advising on employment tribunal claims, redundancy situations, holiday pay issues or a disciplinary matter (and more). You’ll be involved in preparing and reviewing documentation and advising the client on their implementation. You’ll also be expected to get involved in the employment aspects of corporate transactions working with UK-based and international businesses, including medium, large and listed companies.

The Team

The Employment team advises businesses and individuals on all aspects of employment law, including redundancies, disciplinary and grievances, Settlement Agreements, TUPE, absence management, status issues, IR35 and also diversity and inclusion.  We also undertake a wide range of Employment Tribunal claims.

You’ll be part of a national employment team which is over 60 people strong. The work we all do has been recognised with awards including a third nomination for Personnel Today, Employment Law Firm of the Year 2023, something we’re proud to have won twice.
