Working as a Data Protection Advisor, your role will be to provide data protection subject matter expertise and advice, with a particular focus on individual rights and incident response.
Working as part of a busy team, you’ll assist in developing awareness of and ensuring compliance with data protection legislation across the Irwin Mitchell Group. You’ll also support on creating the data protection strategy; working across the business to ensure that this understood and followed.
You’ll need to be an exceptional communicator with the ability to gain business buy-in. You’ll partner with the business to provide practical, efficient solutions where shortfalls have been identified and ensure the implementation of corrective measures. You’ll use these professional relationships to promote consistent processes and behaviours so that they become part of the Group’s culture.
Given the nature of the role, you’ll enjoy analysing problems, identifying and evaluating possible solutions as well as having demonstrable decision making ability. You’ll help to support more junior colleagues through supervising their work and always promoting best practice across the team.
Ideally, we’d like you to hold or be working towards an ISEB in Data Protection of CIIPP/E qualification. It would also be helpful if you had experience of leading the total supply chain solution for either a large project or a significant business area.
