We’re looking to recruit two highly motivated Data Architects who’ll be responsible for designing and assuring data solutions across the whole change portfolio, working independently as well as with other architects and colleagues (including 3rd parties) across the business.
We’re entering an exciting phase in our business transformation where we now need to accelerate our move to cloud solutions, focusing on data-driven, digital experiences for our clients, colleagues and communities that we can scale at speed. You’ll be working as part of the IT Strategy and Architecture Team bringing your experience, skills and knowledge to influence strategy and data roadmaps as well as plenty of hands on delivery. If you have experience of working with the Dynamics 365 platform (Dataverse), modern data warehousing (Synapse Analytics), data & knowledge management strategies, and machine learning/AI to accelerate business value then get in touch.
• Developing data component strategies and architectural artefacts, which then enable the delivery of our digital transformation agenda and data strategy.• Identifying data solution options, recommendations, costs, issues and risks and facilitates the creation of business cases where new business solutions are required.• Providing thought leadership in the use of data to deliver business benefit• Leading the creation of data architecture designs and IT solutions aligned with the IM architectural framework, policies and standards. • Working closely with other staff including the Data Team, Project Manager, Service Transition and IT Security to ensure solution designs can be translated into plans and realised as new, changed or updated production systems• Designing data systems which meet business needs and takes into account how connections between systems will operate. • Leading architectural assurance of individual IT change activities/projects throughout the change lifecycle, using fit for purpose governance and controls.• Contributing to the continuous improvement of Irwin Mitchell architecture services delivery in order to deliver effective and efficient processes, tools and methodologies that improve the quality and speed of architectural delivery.• Identifying both the business and technical impact of emerging industry and technology trends on data architecture designs and strategic initiatives.• Investigating innovative technologies and capabilities to support the timing, implementation and maturing of selected data related technologies into fully-realised business capabilities.• Coaching and mentoring colleagues across the technology department in data skills and implementing complex data projects.
• Previous experience designing and delivering data solutions using Microsoft solutions, such as Blob, Data Factory, Synapse, Analysis Services.• A background in designing and delivering migrations from on premise legacy data solutions to cloud platforms.• Proven experience of developing and implementing a Data Architecture set of blueprints for in a client centric organisation.• Strong knowledge and experience of different Enterprise Architecture models including business, information, process, data and technology architectures • Able to work autonomously and producing work to the highest quality. • Strong leadership skills and passion to adopt and implement change.• Excellent communication skills, with a capacity to present, discuss and explain issues coherently and logically both in writing and verbally.• Clear decision-making ability with the facility to judge complex situations and assess when to escalate issues.
