We have a fantastic new opportunity as a Quality Assurance Lead in the Court of Protection team on a 12 month fixed term contract.
You will be responsible to conduct regular reviews of the firm’s legal case files, ensuring they are in good order in compliance with internal policy and procedure as well as high standards of client care and regulatory requirements (e.g. OPG Standards, SRA requirements etc). The main objective of your role will be to ensure legal, regulatory and internal standards are complied with. The role will identify any deficient controls, potential for unaccepted risk, non-compliance with laws, regulations, and management policies or evidence of poor financial practice.
You will use previous risk audit experience and/or legal background assessing compliance with regulations and controls by examining and analysing records, reports, operating practices, and documentation.
You will have strong attention to detail and have excellent report drafting skills when creating detailed written reports, at both departmental and strategic level, in respect of file review outcomes, findings and recommendations. Having analytical abilities will also help you when recommending improvements to internal operational, process and financial control structures as required.
Building on experience dealing with a range of people including senior colleagues you will have the opportunity to attend senior management meetings to present audit findings / recommendations as required by the business.
You will work alongside your line manager to review work and any other relevant matters and will need to identify any potential risk, particularly those which may lead to a claim against the firm and/or a complaint from client(s).
You will be able to able to prioritise and use your own initiative.
Using your experience of working in a pressurised environment and to tight schedules you’ll support the business in implementing process / control improvements as required; completing timely follow up activities to ensure risks have been mitigated.
There may include travel to other IM offices and other locations, with travel outside of normal working hours as required to meet business need.
