Change Portfolio & Business Management Analyst (6019)

We’re a national law firm with a local reach. Our legal experts are here for you. Whether it’s personal or business, we understand that everyone’s situation is different. But we’re more than just a law firm – we’re a team of people working together to help individuals and businesses navigate life’s ups and downs. Working here you’ll feel a part of our friendly and inclusive environment.

We’ll value you for who you are and what you bring. We support each other and push boundaries to achieve incredible things and make a real difference to our clients and communities.

We're always looking to support our colleagues to work in a way that works best for them and everyone else, including our clients, the business and the regulators. Please speak to a member of our Recruitment and Onboarding team for more information.

Your Role and What You'll Be Doing

We’re looking for a Change Portfolio & Business Management Analyst to join our CIO Business Management Team on a 9 Month Fixed Term Contract, to support the effective delivery of change across the organisation.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working at the heart of transformation, combining strong organisation and governance skills with a collaborative, continuous‑improvement mindset.

Working within the CIO Business Management Team, this role brings together two key areas:

  • Change Portfolio Office (CPO): supporting the governance, reporting and continuous improvement of our change delivery frameworks (Agile and Waterfall), and providing guidance to Delivery Leads, Programme and Project Managers
  • CIO Business Management: coordinating and delivering centralised CIO-wide business management and operational activities

You’ll play a key part in ensuring our change portfolio is well governed, transparent and aligned to strategic priorities.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing PMO-style support to programmes and projects, including governance forums and steering committees
  • Supporting resource and demand management activities across the change portfolio
  • Managing business case and benefits tracking to ensure robust governance and clear outcomes
  • Maintaining and enhancing change delivery frameworks, processes and associated documentation
  • Supporting portfolio-level reporting, management information and board-level updates
  • Coordinating change control processes and portfolio dependencies
  • Carrying out project and programme health checks and tracking actions to completion
  • Supporting financial tracking, time recording and performance insights across the portfolio
  • Supporting CIO-wide business management activities and processes
  • Maintaining business management documentation and digital hubs
  • Coordinating CIO-wide communications, town halls and engagement activity
  • Managing centralised CIO starters, movers and leavers processes
  • Monitoring completion of mandatory learning across the CIO function
  • Contributing to internal newsletters and wider colleague communications
  • Representing the team at relevant working groups and communities of practice
About You

We’re looking for someone who brings strong organisation, attention to detail and confidence working across a complex stakeholder environment.

Essential

  • Experience working within a Portfolio Management Office or Business Management function
  • Strong planning and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • P3O or PRINCE2 qualification (or actively studying towards one)
  • Ability to identify opportunities to improve processes and ways of working
  • Comfortable working autonomously, with the judgement to escalate when appropriate
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Desirable

  • Experience working with both Agile and traditional delivery approaches
  • Familiarity with project and portfolio management tools (e.g. Planview)
  • Strong Excel skills (including formulas and macros)
  • Strong PowerPoint, Word and Visio skills, with the ability to produce high‑quality outputs
Our Benefits - What We Can Offer You
  • 25 days holidays as standard plus bank holidays - You can ‘buy’ up to 35hrs of extra holiday too.
  • Generous and flexible pension schemes.
  • Volunteering days – Two days of volunteering every year for a cause of your choice (fully paid)
  • Westfield Health membership, offering refunds on medical services alongside our Aviva Digital GP services.

We also offer a wide range of well-being initiatives to encourage positive mental health both in and out of the workplace and to make sure you’re fully supported.  This includes our Flexible by Choice programme which gives our colleagues more choice over a hybrid way of working subject to role, team and client requirements.

We have been ranked in the Best Workplaces for Wellbeing for Large Organisations for 2024!

Our responsible business programmes are fundamental to who we are and our purpose. We’re committed to being a diverse and inclusive workplace where our colleagues can flourish, and we have established a number of inclusion network groups across our business to support this aim.

Our commitment to Social Responsibility, community investment activity and tackling climate change is a fundamental part of who we are. It’s made up of four strands: Our People, Our Community, Our Environment and Our Pro Bono.
