Business Development Manager - Seriously Injured and Vulnerable (2206)

Your Role

Reporting into the Seriously Injured and Vulnerable Head of Business Development, you will be responsible for developing the strategy, planning and managing business development activity and pipeline to support business growth and ensure outcomes are delivered to achieve business and strategic goals

As part of the Commercial Growth Team, your role will support and be responsible in both acquiring and nurturing growth from new and existing clients in the Seriously Injured sector.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Responsibility, leadership and implementation of business development plans with the strategic aim of maximising profitable revenue, building new business pipelines and acquisition from within the seriously injured sector and driving more services to existing clients to build lifetime value.
  • To work collaboratively with colleagues from across the business and with other Business Development Managers to identify, drive and maximise opportunities in each audience, sector and market across the Group.
  • Time dedicated in market - active in the financial services sector and network – identifying opportunities, attending meetings to win new clients, develop new relationships/partnerships that support strategic growth.
  • Have an excellent understanding of the Group’s legal and financial services and products and be able to advise others about them and promote/sell the Group services to external clients and contacts.
  • Responsible and accountable for forecasting business development budget spend aligned with the financial services sector, ensuring that forecasting is accurate, up to date backed with strong and sound commercial decisions.
  • Responsible for assigned key accounts to support growth, with action plans to achieve appropriate objectives, research and knowledge sharing across the firm, attending internal and external meetings, coaching and monitoring ROI.
  • Preparing business cases and proposals to support opportunities that drive growth.
  • Conducting and chairing integrated sales and business development meetings for sectors/markets.
  • Working with Bids and Acquisitions Team, provide direction, advise on strategy, anticipating future trends in bid/tender opportunities.
  • Developing presentations and proposal documents and accompany partners on new business pitches where appropriate in conjunction with in the Bids and Acquisitions Team.
  • Analysing, interpreting and capitalising on market reports, trends and data.
  • To be the expert voice and representation of the client in the sector to ensure our approach is relevant
  • Utilising reporting systems and data insights for ROI to include tracking and monitoring of activity: lead times, conversion ratios, client feedback, services purchased to inform sound commercial decisions and business development strategies.
  • Work alongside our Responsible Business Team to bring the Responsible Business strategy to life through business development identifying new opportunities to win new clients or partnerships and using it to help build relationships with existing clients and contacts.
What We're Looking For
  • Extensive experience of working in a business development or sales and marketing role.
  • Experience and ability to be proactive and engaged in external market, developing relationships with clients, contacts or intermediaries.
  • Strategic and budget/financial planning .
  • Strong team ethos; always keen to help and make a positive contribution to team deliverables, support and culture.
  • Able to thrive in high pressure environments.
  • Drive and tenacity; enjoys a challenge, proven ability to adapt and remove obstacles to achieve results, determination and optimism.
  • Can interpret and make good use of data to make sound decisions. Encourages others to do so.
  • Is hugely flexible, collaborative and creative. Thrives on change, challenges the status quo and constantly looks for new opportunities to do things better.
  • An articulate communicator, who adapts style to meet the differing needs of the audience.
  • Ability to build and manage positive relationships both internally and externally.
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • CIM qualification or a Degree based in Marketing or Business would be desirable.
