A fantastic opportunity has arisen within the Leeds office of national law firm Irwin Mitchell for a Solicitor/Associate to assist with the growth and development of our Restructuring and Insolvency team.
The team comprises dedicated restructuring & insolvency lawyers who handle the whole spectrum of work related to financially distressed businesses and individuals. Due to a significant growth in restructuring and insolvency assignments, we are looking for a restructuring & insolvency lawyer to support the team with both distressed and insolvent restructuring matters.
The R&I team handle the whole spectrum of work related to financially distressed businesses and individuals. We act for a range of lenders and insolvency practitioners with national and niche local practices dealing with the whole range of formal and informal insolvency assignments. . It is one of the major players and one of the largest R&I departments in Yorkshire and the team is regularly involved in complex and high profile matters.
To be considered for this exciting new role, you will have a strong track record at a reputable regional or City R&I practice. You should be familiar with corporate and banking documents and be able to demonstrate ambition, energy and enthusiasm for this area of the law. You will also be expected to actively engage in business development and marketing activities and so confidence and good personal skills are essential
The team also provides expert advice on insolvency, turnaround, restructuring and asset recovery, and advises those who are the subject of financial difficulties or impacted on by others in financial difficulties.

You will be a team player with strong communication skills and rounded client service skills. You will have experience of working in a legal environment and an understanding of office procedures, along with a pro-active approach and the ability to work on your own initiative. All applicants must possess sound IT skills and be familiar with the Microsoft Office suite of applications.
Applicants should also have proven Insolvency experience and a genuine desire to develop a career in this area of law.
