Irwin Mitchell’s leading Media & Entertainment team works with businesses and professionals throughout the creative industries and digital sector.
Working as part of the national Commercial practice the team supports businesses that are reliant on the intellectual property they produce; providing legal advice on the creation, acquisition, protection and commercialisation of intellectual property.
Our highly experienced technical experts include recognised leading individuals in their field who understand the media and entertainment industry and hold valuable and enduring relationships and connections. This environment empowers our experts to proactively identify issues and opportunities in order to deliver smart, creative and successful solutions for our clients leaving them free to focus on achieving their business goals and objectives.
Clients of the team include TV production companies, video games studios, communications agencies, mediatech businesses; fashion brands and music businesses and artists. The team were finalists in the 2020 UK law firm of the year category at the Music Week Awards.
If media & entertainment is your thing, then this is the role for you. Ideally, you’ll have experience from a previous career in the industry and have a passion for it that goes beyond your job. We want to help you to succeed so you’ll be fully supported to develop in your role, but you’ll also need to have the confidence to hit the ground running and really get involved in matters from the get-go. Using your understanding of this interesting area of law, you’ll be able to demonstrate good technical ability in contract drafting and negotiation and you will be able to communicate advice in a clear accessible and professional manner. You will work to participate in relevant practice development initiatives, seek to get involved with business development opportunities and keep up to date with changes in relevant law and practice. To drive best practice further, you will be an exceptional team player with the ability to work collaboratively to deliver the best outcomes for our clients and to develop other team members.
We’re looking for a bright and enthusiastic individual to join our successful team. You’ll be commercially minded and will also have the confidence to work autonomously, taking the lead on some matters from the very beginning.
