Job description

Administrator (4603)

We’re a national law firm with a local reach. Our philosophy is ‘we're legal and financial experts that care’ – something you’ll find in the way we work with our clients and how we support our teams. But we’re more than just a law firm – we’re a team of people working together to help individuals and businesses navigate life’s ups and downs. Working here you’ll feel a part of our friendly and inclusive environment.

We're always looking to support our colleagues to work in a way that works best for them and everyone else, including our clients, the business and the regulators. Please speak to one of our Talent Acquisition team to find out more.

We’re looking to add a Conveyancing Support Team Member to our Residential Property team to be based in Sheffield the role is on a hybrid basis, with a requirement to attend the office at least two to three times a week.

Our Team

Our Sheffield team specialises in all aspects of Residential Conveyancing, including sales, purchases, re-mortgages, transfer of equity, and complex title transactions. We pride ourselves on delivering high-quality service and support to our clients throughout their property transactions.

Most of our work is based on our reputation and comes on a Private Client basis and from internal referrals from our full service Law Firm. Whilst we do work closely with estate agents and lenders, we do not work on a volume referral basis

Your Role and What You'll Be Doing
  • You will be the initial point of contact for new enquiries into the team and work closely with fee earners in preparing and providing cost quotations and information to potential new clients.
  • Opening files upon receipt of completed instruction forms and providing the Terms of Business to our clients.
  • Closing files and entering them into the database.
  • Completing deeds returns to clients and lenders following receipt of completed applications and managing deed requests from storage.
  •  Assisting the team with incoming calls, handling queries where possible, and referring calls to the relevant person. Being the first point of contact for our clients and potential new clients.
  • Opening and filing post in the correct manner.
  • Supporting home workers by printing letters in the office, scanning documents into the case management system, and filing original documents.
  •  Supporting fee earners on the day of completion by ensuring all funds are in, chasing lenders for mortgage advances, arranging payments, and liaising with all parties to complete the sale or purchase. Completing all letters and arranging for all payments along with SDLT submissions.

Whilst this is an entry level role, it is a great pathway into the team and practice area offering the potential to progress where business needs allow.
