Residential Property Assistant (1919)

Your Role

Working as a Residential Property Assistant, you’ll work to support your team to allow them to provide quality legal advice and an exceptional Conveyancing service to our clients.

Using your understanding of the law, you’ll assist fee-earners with managing their caseloads of purchase, sale, remortgage and other associated matters for both freehold and leasehold properties. Given the nature of the role, you’ll need to be hardworking and be able to thrive in a pressurised environment; reacting to changing deadlines and priorities in a professional and pragmatic manner.

You’ll be able to demonstrate an up-to-date legal knowledge and an enthusiasm for continuing your professional development to ensure that you are always able to provide the best services to our clients. You’ll have the confidence to contribute to team meetings and work collaboratively sharing best practice and learning from your colleagues.


What You'll Be Doing
  • Supporting the Partner and other fee earners in the management of their caseloads by actioning legal procedures as directed
  • Ensuring strong service delivery for clients and work providers through pro-active assistance to the fee earners
  • Maintaining accurate and up to date records on required systems as appropriate
  • Working to specified SLA’s set by the department
  • Liaising directly with clients to manage expectations and provide updates on progress of cases
  • Preparing correspondence and documents using the firm’s case management and other IT systems
  • Dealing with all clients and visitors in a professional manner both internal and external
  • Referring cases and other relevant matters to fee earners and supervisors to ensure quality legal advice is provided and compliance with the firm’s policies and procedures
  • Keeping up to date with changes in relevant law and practice and attending appropriate training events to ensure up to date legal knowledge and best practice


What We're Looking For
  • Ideally you’ll have conveyancing experience already and may be working towards a relevant legal qualification such as ILEX, CLC or similar
  • A demonstrable understanding of case management systems and an awareness of quality procedures
  • Ability to work in a pressurised environment
  • Ability to work on own initiative
  • Great accuracy and attention to detail
