We're looking for an experienced Technical Project Manager to join our CIO team. This role is responsible for overseeing, supporting and managing the delivery of complex technical projects and programmes from inception through to realisation and closure.

You'll provide strong leadership throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the required business and technical standards. Working closely with development, infrastructure, architecture and QA teams, you'll provide technical oversight and ensure solutions are designed, built, tested and implemented successfully.

As a Technical Project Manager, you'll build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders across the business, drive continuous improvement in project delivery practices, and proactively manage risks and issues that could impact successful outcomes.

Key responsibilities include:

• Managing complex technical projects from initiation through to implementation and transition into business-as-usual.
• Planning, scheduling, monitoring and reporting on project progress, milestones, budgets and benefits realisation.
• Coordinating technical resources including engineers, architects, developers, analysts and third-party suppliers.
• Providing oversight of technical planning, environments, releases, migrations, integrations and deployment activities.
• Managing technical dependencies, assumptions, risks and issues throughout the project lifecycle.
• Ensuring solutions align with enterprise architecture, security, compliance and operational standards.
• Coordinating system, integration, performance and operational readiness testing activities.
• Facilitating technical governance processes and design authority approvals.
• Managing supplier delivery and technical statements of work.
• Supporting service transition, operational handover and post-implementation stabilisation activities.
• Producing and maintaining project plans, RAID logs, delivery schedules and status reporting.
• Building effective stakeholder relationships and acting as a trusted advisor across business and technical teams.
• Identifying opportunities to improve project delivery approaches, processes and outcomes.
• Leading project teams and creating an environment that promotes collaboration, accountability and successful delivery.

Essential Experience & Knowledge

• Proven experience delivering end-to-end technology and infrastructure projects in hybrid environments utilising cloud technologies, ideally Microsoft Azure.
• Experience engaging and influencing senior stakeholders and multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong technical understanding across:
• Cloud platforms (Azure, AWS and/or Google Cloud)
• Infrastructure and networking
• Identity and access management
• Systems integration and APIs
• Application deployment and release management
• Security and compliance requirements
• Technical architecture and service transition principles
• Experience coordinating technical teams and third-party suppliers.
• Knowledge of project management methodologies and frameworks including PRINCE2, MSP and Agile approaches.
• Experience managing project budgets, risks, dependencies and change control processes.
• The ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, understandable language for non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong consultancy, problem-solving and analytical skills.
