Your Role and What You'll Be Doing 

You don’t always need to have a law degree to work as a Paralegal at Irwin Mitchell. In the Medical Negligence Team, we’re keen to have you on board if you are a great team player and willing to learn quickly. You'll be involved in multi-track value cases, with wide ranging types of claims ranging in value up to multi-million pounds.

Your role will involve but is not limited to:

• Speaking to new / potential clients and taking details of their claim.
• Taking instructions from clients and assisting with the giving of legal advice, including obtaining evidence and, where appropriate, assist with litigation, to achieve appropriate resolutions for the clients.
• Achieving time recording and fee income targets to ensure profitable working.
• Supporting case handlers generally in the running of the cases.
• Attending and contributing to team/practice area meetings and complying with directions/decisions made to ensure team objectives achieved.
• Keeping up to date with changes in relevant law and practice and attending appropriate training events to ensure up to date legal knowledge and best practice.  

• Empathy and compassion to help guide our clients through challenging personal circumstances
• Organised and pro-active with high standards of workload and diary management
• A friendly, enthusiastic and can-do approach
• Enthusiasm in building a career as a Paralegal, whether you have previous experience or not
