Job description

Digital Solutions and Technology Manager (6446)

Your Role and What You'll Be Doing

The newly created role of Digital Solutions & Technology Manager (CoP & PLHR) is a core role in the repositioning of the existing technology function from within COP support to a standalone function sitting alongside the Support and Billing teams. Any questions please contact Matt Dandy (Head of Business Performance COP & PLHR).

Technology, automation, data and digital innovation are increasingly critical to delivering exceptional client service, operational excellence and sustainable growth. As Operations Manager (Technology), you'll play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering the technology strategy across our Court of Protection (CoP) and Public Law & Human Rights (PLHR) business unit.

Working closely with senior leaders, you'll take ownership of the technology agenda, ensuring that digital tools, automation and data-driven solutions are embedded effectively across the business. You'll act as the bridge between operational teams, technology specialists and business stakeholders, leading initiatives that improve efficiency, strengthen governance, reduce operational risk and support commercial performance.

A key focus of the role will be supporting the successful implementation and optimisation of Peppermint, helping to redesign processes, improve data quality and ensure technology solutions are aligned with the evolving needs of the business. You'll also lead the ongoing development of digital solutions, workflows and automations that enhance how our teams work and deliver services to clients.

Working in partnership with colleagues across Operations, IT, Data Analytics and Finance, you'll help drive continuous improvement and innovation, ensuring CoP & PLHR is equipped with scalable, future-focused technology solutions that support both current priorities and long-term strategic objectives.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading the design, delivery and continuous improvement of technology-enabled processes across CoP & PLHR.
  • Owning the day-to-day operation and optimisation of existing applications, digital workflows and automation solutions.
  • Driving process improvement initiatives that increase efficiency, improve consistency and reduce operational risk.
  • Leading the implementation, enhancement and ongoing development of Peppermint across the business unit.
  • Overseeing data governance, data quality and migration activities to ensure accuracy, integrity and effective decision-making.
  • Developing reporting capabilities and management information that provide meaningful operational and commercial insight.
  • Building strong relationships across operational, technical and leadership teams to ensure successful delivery of strategic objectives.
  • Leading and developing the Digital & App function, creating a culture of continuous improvement, innovation and best practice.
  • Championing the practical application of emerging technologies, including automation and AI, to create competitive advantage and improve business performance.
  • Contributing to the wider business strategy through technology leadership, innovation and operational excellence.
About You

We're looking for an experienced technology and operations professional who is passionate about using technology, data and process improvement to drive meaningful business outcomes.

You'll be a strategic thinker with a practical, hands-on approach, capable of translating complex operational requirements into effective technology solutions. Comfortable operating at both strategic and operational levels, you'll enjoy working with stakeholders across the business and influencing positive change in a complex and evolving environment.

You'll bring:

  • Proven experience designing, implementing and enhancing technology-enabled solutions, workflows, automations or business applications.
  • Strong experience leading operational and digital transformation initiatives that deliver measurable business improvement.
  • The ability to analyse complex business challenges and develop scalable, technology-led solutions.
  • Experience managing technology projects through the full lifecycle, from discovery and requirements gathering through to implementation, adoption and continuous improvement.
  • A strong understanding of data governance, data quality, reporting and management information.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and engage colleagues at all levels of the organisation.
  • Experience working collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams, bringing together technical expertise and operational priorities.
  • Strong commercial awareness and an understanding of how technology can improve efficiency, client service, profitability and overall business performance.
  • Experience leading, coaching or developing teams, creating an environment which encourages innovation, accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly and confidently to non-technical audiences.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with the confidence to challenge existing approaches and identify new opportunities for improvement.
  • Resilience, adaptability and the ability to balance multiple priorities within a fast-paced and evolving environment.

Experience with technologies such as Microsoft Power Platform, Power BI, Dataverse, SharePoint Online or similar platforms would be advantageous, as would experience within a legal or professional services environment.
