Your Role and What You'll Be Doing

Your Role

The Data Delivery Lead is a key role within the data team, responsible for driving the successful delivery of data solutions across multiple projects. This role involves overseeing the end-to-end solution delivery process, coordinating resources, and ensuring the timely and effective implementation of data projects.

The Data Engineering team is responsible for data migration activities on major transformations projects for the business. This includes re-platforming on IM’s systems as well as mergers and acquisitions. These are high profile exciting projects that gain organisation wide visibility.  The success of these projects from a data perspective is paramount.

The Data Delivery Lead is instrumental in the successful delivery of the Data teams activities. This role sits across all data projects to ensure effective resourcing, coordination, and communication is occurring, leaning in and out of projects as required. This role is responsible for ensuring key stakeholders are informed and up-to-date.

With a holistic view, the Data Delivery Lead works across projects with IM’s strategic delivery partner and internal resources ensuring the projects success. This role will primarily be focused around the success of the transformation activities but could encompass the delivery of the Trusted Data Platform, and other Analytics driven projects, as appropriate.

 

What You’ll Be Doing

 Project Management 

  • Lead the end-to-end planning, execution, and successful delivery of data projects, ensuring they align with the overall business objectives.
  • Collaborate with senior management to define the data project roadmap and align it with the organization's overall goals and objectives.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, monitor progress, and ensure timely completion.
  • Identify and manage project risks, issues, and dependencies, implementing mitigation strategies as needed.
  • Coordinate and allocate resources, monitor project progress, and manage risks and issues.
  • Ensure the team are operating using appropriate delivery frameworks such as Agile, and conducting delivery in the most optimum way, looking for and implementing improvements where possible.
  • Continuously assess and improve solution delivery processes to enhance efficiency and quality.
  • Ensure all aspects of the project are considered and delivered, being conscious of quality assurance processes and overall quality of the delivered solution.
  • Provide guidance, mentorship, and support to a team of data professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.

 

Team Coordination:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders, including data analysts, engineers, and business teams, to understand project requirements and objectives.
  • Coordinate and allocate resources effectively to ensure project success.
  • Foster a collaborative, high-performing, and inclusive team culture, promoting knowledge-sharing and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Provide guidance and support to team members, facilitating their professional development and growth.
  • Some of the projects will have CIO project managers on, manage this coordination and avoid duplication of effort.

 

Stakeholder Management:

  • Engage with project stakeholders, including business teams, data analysts, and IT departments, to understand their needs and expectations.
  • Build strong relationships with project stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and understanding of project requirements.
  • Provide regular project updates, reports, and presentations to stakeholders, highlighting progress, risks, and achievements.
  • Manage stakeholder expectations and handle any issues or concerns in a proactive and professional manner.
  • Proactively address any issues or concerns raised by stakeholders, ensuring their satisfaction and alignment with project goals.

 

About You
  • Strong experience in solution delivery and project management, preferably within a data-focused environment.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in managing data projects or related roles, with a proven track record of successful project delivery on large-scale transformation programmes.
  • Solid understanding of data management principles, data governance, and data analysis techniques, and technologies.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire others.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking abilities.
  • Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Proven experience in budget management.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment, adapt to changing priorities, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience of working within agile product teams
  • Ideally you will be from a Professional Services background, but this is not essential.
